Saturday April 1
I learned a fun fact this weekend: Dayton was founded on April 1st, 1796 by 12 settlers known as the Thompson Party. They traveled in March from Cincinnati up the Great Miami and landed near what is now St. Clair St. Cool! To celebrate, Jimmie’s Ladder 11 is hosting a April Ship of Fools Dayton Birthday Party. They are local beers and spirits, as well as Dayton’s Great Northern String Band. Music starts at 10pm. $5 cover for the show.
An epic all day party is also planned at Yellow Cab on Saturday, which also heralds the beginning of Food Truck Season! YUM! Head over for Wicked ‘Wich of Dayton Launch Party 2017, for a serious live music line-up, as well as great food. Bands include: R. Ring (featuring Kelley Deal of The Breeders and Mike Montgomery of Ampline), Jasper the Colossal, Grenades!?, The Mainline Funk, Kyleen Downes, JOUNCE (featuring Danny Tamberelli of The Adventures of Pete and Pete/All That), Calamity Day, Paige Beller. WOW! Now that is a line up! All proceeds are going to TJ’s Place of Hope and Building Bridges, two great non-profit organizations in the Dayton area serving at-risk youth. $10 admission. Show 4pm – 12am.
