Have you had a proper summah yet? Well, you’re running out of time, so get on it! In my opinion, one of the best ways to soak in the last of summer is with good friends and good music!
There are great shows this weekend, including the last concert at the Rose Music Center, a bangin’ show at Oddbody’s Music Room, and WYSO’s community concert, which is the perfect way to get sun and live music at once!
Read on for all the details!
Friday September 9th
The earliest show this weekend is Blues Traveler, The Wallflowers, G. Love & Special Sauce, and Howie Day at Rose Music Center. This rescheduled show will be the last in this summer’s run at the Rose, and what a summer it was! Wow! This fun 90s throwback show is a great last hurrah!
Please note: August 19th tickets will be honored for the rescheduled date of September 9th. Tickets start at $23.50, subject to availability. Ticket prices include parking and are subject to applicable Ticketmaster fees and day of show increase. All events are rain or shine. Doors 5:30pm. Show 6:30pm.
One of the most highly anticipated shows of the weekend is undoubtedly Downtown Brown, Nightbeast, Pinky Doddle Poodle, and Yardboss at Oddbody’s Music Room. Love the bands, love the venue! It will be loud and wild, so hold on! $10 at the door. Doors 7pm. Show 8pm. 18+ event.
Downtown, don’t miss The Repeating Arms, Akillis Green and Charlie Jackson at Oregon Express. If you like Americana style music, great songwriting, and a fun evening, this is a your ticket! Music usually starts around 9pm. $5 cover. 21+
A Sides / B Sides will be doing a fairly early at Dublin Pub. Love those 8pm start times! This group has such wonderful musicians, who just make you feel good. They will entertain and delight, with eardrums intact! 8pm – midnight. 21+
Indie rock fans head over to see Weathervien, Mad Anthony, Yellow Paper Planes, Ken’s Motorbike at Blind Bob’s tonight. 9pm. $5 cover. 21+
Freakquency will be getting the folks at Flanagan’s very funky this evening! 9pm-midnight. Not sure about a cover there! 21+
Saturday September 10th
An early, and quite lovely show can be found with Rachel Litteral and The Abstracts at the Brandeberry Winery in Enon, Ohio. What could be better than wine, a beautiful sunset, great company and awesome music! 6-9pm.
Sunday September 11th
One of the weekend’s “do not miss” events is WYSO’s 2016 Community Concert featuring Rani Arbo & Daisy Mayhem and the Central State University Chorus from 3-6pm at RiverScape Metro Park. For this concert, especially because it’s on 9/11, WYSO has chosen artists who are Peace Heroes, meaning they promote peace through their music. Love that! Even better, this is a FREE event, and open to the public. There will be food trucks and beer on-hand as well!
For late night Sunday fun, there is a great show at Blind Bob’s with Speaking Suns, In Details, and Jetty Bones. Those usually get going at 9pm with a $5 cover.
As always, thank you for supporting live music!
